Intensive Aphasia Treatment Program
In Beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia

We are very pleased to once again announce an intensive treatment program for people with aphasia. This month long program will run all day, five days per week, in Vancouver in the summer of 2012, June 25th to July 27th.

Limited to the first six eligible registrants.
Cost (if registered by April 1st, 2012) - $16,000 per person, late fee of $1500 thereafter.

Highlights include:

A total of seven hours of treatment each week day for 4 weeks!
Small number - registration will be limited to a maximum of six clients to ensure ample opportunity for personal, individualized attention.
High ratio of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to clients – there will be more than one SLP to every two clients.
One graduate student SLP intern for each client registered.
Group treatment – A portion of each day will be spent in group treatment, to aid in conversational practice, functional goals, and gaining self confidence.
Individual treatment – Each client will receive two hours of one-to-one treatment with an SLP each day.
Constraint-Induced Language Therapy will be provided each day.
Additional practice sessions will be provided, each day, on a one-to-one basis by a graduate student SLP intern, supervised by a registered SLP.
Pre-testing will ensure that we can tailor your program to your needs.
Post-testing will document changes and focus future recommendations.
A comprehensive report will outline personal suggestions for follow-up to maintain progress into the future.

How to Register

We are taking registration right now for the summer program. The earlier you register, the better the likelihood that we will have space to accommodate you. The first six eligible registrants will be enrolled on a first-come first-served basis, upon completion of the registration process and submission of their non-refundable deposit. (Please note that you will not be considered registered until the application process is entirely complete; those with incomplete registration will not be considered registered for the "first-come, first-served" que) Because of the extensive planning involved in preparing for and staffing this program, we require participants to register and pay 50% of the fee as a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. The balance of the payment must be included in the form of a post-dated cheque dated for May 13th, 2012. We reserve the right to limit registration to those who we feel will benefit from the program. (If we have sufficient space we will take latecomers, subject to a late fee of $1500 for those registering after April 1st.)
